The City of Philomath’s Comprehensive Plan serves as a guiding document for the community’s long-term growth and development. Rooted in the values of self-reliance and thoughtful planning, the Plan outlines strategies to ensure Philomath continues to be a livable, vibrant, and sustainable city for current and future generations.
The plan documents the City’s approach to the allocation of available resources for meeting current and anticipated future needs. In doing so, it records current thinking regarding economic and social conditions. Because these conditions change over time, the plan must be directive, but flexible, and must also be periodically reviewed and revised to consider changes in circumstances.
The Comprehensive Plan Map is subject to change pursuant to actions by the City Council. Information on this map is a representation of the Official Comprehensive Plan Map of the City of Philomath. The boundaries shown should not be relied upon for anything other than general location.
The Philomath Comprehensive Plan was originally adopted in 1983 and was last revised in 2022, with updates to the chapters on Citizen Involvement, Economy, Housing, and Urbanization. The City Council adopted Ordinance No. 871 on November 14, 2022, updating these chapters with the information acquired by a Housing Needs Analysis, Economic Needs Analysis, and Main Street Plan.
