The application period opens Monday, December 1, 2025 and closes on Monday, January 5, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
Ad Hoc Public Art Committee – 1 position
Composed of five volunteers and one non-voting City Council member. Advises the City Council and staff on public art-related matters. Meetings are typically held on the 3rd Tuesdays of each month. Applications are being accepted to fill the remainder of one unexpired term which expires on December 31, 2027.
Budget Review Committee – 2 positions
This Committee includes seven volunteers plus the seven elected members of the City Council. Meetings are held several times in the spring, and members receive budget updates throughout the year. Open positions are for standard three-year terms.
Heritage Tree Program Committee – 2 positions
Consists of two volunteers and three elected members of the City Council who meet on an as-needed basis to discuss the program and select which trees will be acknowledged. Open positions are for standard three-year terms.
Inclusivity Ad Hoc Committee – 3 positions
This Committee includes six volunteers and three elected members of the City Council. Meetings are held monthly on the 4th Tuesdays of each month to develop programs and events promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in Philomath. Two open positions are for standard two-year terms, one will fill the remainder of an unexpired term ending December 31, 2027.
Park Advisory Board – 2 positions
Composed of seven volunteers who provide recommendations to the City Council on issues related to parks. The Board typically meets on the 1st Tuesdays of each month. Applicants interested in assisting with the coordination of the annual Music in the Park Summer Concert Series are strongly encouraged to apply. Open positions are for standard three-year terms.
Planning Commission – 2 positions
Membership includes seven volunteers who make decisions related to zoning, land use, and development. Meetings are typically held on the third Monday of each month. One open position is for a standard four-year term, one will fill the remainder of an unexpired term ending December 31, 2026.
Tree Advisory Board – 1 position
Consists of two volunteers and three elected members of the City Council who provide recommendations related to tree issues in the community. The Committee meets on an as-needed basis. Open positions are for standard three-year terms.
The Mayor and City Council will make appointments at their January 12, 2026, meeting.
